Best Garba & Dandiya Nights in India 2026: Famous Events by City, Dates, Venues and Real Costs
From Atul Purohit in Vadodara and Falguni Pathak in Mumbai to Ahmedabad grounds, a Bengaluru palace venue and celebrations in Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai: compare 19 verified 2026 Garba and Dandiya listings by city. Includes Thane and Navi Mumbai, honest ticket-cost catches, cultural context and a practical family checklist.
Where should you dance this Navratri? In 2026 there is no single answer called “India's best Dandiya night.” A Gujarati singer-led circle, a Delhi ground, a hotel ballroom in Kolkata and a beachside Chennai evening offer different kinds of celebration. This guide compares 19 specifically listed 2026 events in 16 destination clusters, including Thane and Navi Mumbai as separate places, so you can choose by city, actual date, music, group needs and the amount due at checkout.
Start here: Gujarat for Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat and Rajkot; Maharashtra for Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai and Pune; Delhi NCR, Indore and Jaipur; Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai. For a detailed ten-event city comparison, read our separate Mumbai 2026 guide once its URL is live. This national page gives the route and distinctive choices; the Mumbai page does the deeper local comparison.
Checked 3 October 2026. Prices marked “from” are advertised entry tiers, not the final cost. All rupee figures, artist lineups, date fields and inclusions can change. Opening-night concerts and 20 October finales do not necessarily follow the core nine-night schedule. Use each linked event page to select the actual night and verify checkout fees, venue, entry rules and the trip home.

These are 19 named entries in 16 destination clusters. Ahmedabad, Surat and Mumbai each have two choices. No claim here is based on independently measured city search volume or crowd size.
Gujarat: four cities, several ways to play
UNESCO inscribed Garba of Gujarat in 2023 and describes collective circles around a lit earthen pot or an image of Amba. A modern pass can add stadium lighting, food courts, celebrity singers and phone-ready backdrops; the devotional circle remains a useful question to ask about an evening's programme. These entries represent distinct 2026 productions, not interchangeable branches of one festival.
Ahmedabad: Mandalam Garba, Bopal
11–20 October · Mandalam Garba Ground, VIP Road, Bopal. Mandalam's 2026 organiser page announces Naresh Barot and the Original Mandli, a large ground and unlimited food as part of its all-inclusive pitch. That makes the ticket comparison more interesting than entry price alone: ask which food and drink inclusions apply to your particular pass, whether children have a different rate and how long it takes your group to get in and home. The organiser's 10,000-plus nightly capacity and 500,000-square-foot arena are its own promotional figures, not an audited attendance report. For a family celebrating after a meal together, the integrated dining plan can simplify logistics.
Ahmedabad: Shankus Dandiya, Shantigram
10–19 October · Adani Shantigram Cricket Ground · ₹999 on the checked ticket page. The live listing names a changing artist line-up: Atul Purohit on 10 October, then performers including Kalpesh Vyas and Rishikesh Gadhavi on later dates. The listing's URL and body also contain older or differing event wording, so rely on the current display title, chosen date and checkout confirmation before booking. A one-night pass is a poor substitute for a nine-night plan if you specifically want one performer. If the 10 October opening artist is the draw, verify that exact slot has not changed.
Vadodara: United Garba Mahotsav and Atul Purohit
11–19 October · M M Patel Farm, Atladara. The official 2026 site lists the venue near Transpek Silox, behind Delhi Public School, and links registration and an event app for a digital E-Pass. It features Atul Purohit with Rutumbhara, describing their four-decade musical association with the celebration. This is a destination for someone who wants sustained traditional live Garba and the social energy of repeat nights. The name “United” has history in Vadodara; do not assume a previous year's ground, organiser, pass or route is valid in 2026. Use the official Atladara address, check registration rules and discuss group transport before paying.
Surat: Gujarat Garba Galaxy
11–20 October · Ekta Lawns · from ₹600. The 2026 booking page advertises Mitali Mahant & Band, outdoor lawns and a food flea. There is a small but consequential venue-text mismatch: its description says “Ekta Lawns, at Le Méridien Hotel, Dumas Road,” while the venue field says “Ekta Lawn, The Grand Bhagwati.” Confirm the selected ticket's final map pin and organiser instructions before setting out; this guide deliberately does not invent a street address to resolve the discrepancy. Food-flea access does not establish that food is included.
Surat: Yashvi Navratri 3.0 with Purva Mantri
11–20 October · Yashvi Navratri AC Dome · from ₹1,999. The 2026 listing announces Purva Mantri with a more premium indoor production, food courts and shopping zones. It says “nine nights” in the description but the date field spans ten calendar dates; select the night first and confirm the actual performance schedule. Compare the total for the whole party against an outdoor Surat choice, then check what the premium category buys beyond entry. The decision may be about AC comfort and a specific singer, not a generic “best” label.
Rajkot: Rajwadi Navratri Mahotsav
11–20 October · Sanman Party Plot, New 150 Ft Road near Katariya Chowk · ₹699 listed. The organiser's ticket description presents a Rajwadi-themed setting, food court and photo areas alongside Garba. It suits a group seeking a ten-date local celebration with a recognisable ground rather than making a trip to Ahmedabad. Food “court” means you should budget food unless a chosen tier says otherwise. Save the address from the actual ticket: the booking site's venue field appears to misspell “Plot” as “Pot.”
Maharashtra: distinguish city, suburb and region
Mumbai has a long Gujarati Garba history: the 1909 Bombay City and Island Gazetteer describes Gujarati women performing it. That does not make a ticketed 2026 show a direct descendant of any one historic gathering. Today the useful comparison is the music, floor, gate and journey. Thane and Navi Mumbai deserve their own labels rather than being folded into Mumbai city.
Mumbai: Falguni Pathak at BKC
11–19 October · Jio World Convention Centre · from ₹2,300. The 2026 event page promises Falguni Pathak's live nine-night show in an indoor venue, with paid parking and food available for purchase. For two at the advertised starting tier, entry alone is ₹4,600; add fees, travel and food. Choose this because you want her performance and the setting, and settle the budget before the group buys mixed tiers.
Mumbai: Kinjal Dave at Kora Kendra Ground 1
11–20 October · Borivali West · date-dependent pricing. Kora Kendra's organiser calls 2026 its 22nd edition, while the ticket listing names Kinjal Dave and Ground 1. The organiser advertises a dedicated senior-citizen seating area; check whether your pass grants access. Do not mistake it for Showglitz with Geeta Rabari at the separate Ground 4. Prices shifted between indexed checks, so print no timeless “from” figure here.
Thane: Raas Rang with Naitik Nagda
11–20 October · Raymond Ground, Thane West · from ₹400. The 2026 listing names Naitik Nagda and N2 Band, a 7 pm Maha Aarti and dancing from 7:30 pm. It attributes the event's beginning to 2017. This is a useful local alternative for a Thane-based family; “Raas Rang” is also used for a separate Ghatkopar event, so match the ground and city on your ticket. Ask about seating, child passes and the late return.
Navi Mumbai: Navrang Garba, Season 2
11–19 October · Le Méridien Navi Mumbai, Turbhe · from ₹472. The booking page describes a hotel production for families, friends and corporate groups. Its atmosphere differs from an outdoor community ground. Hotel setting does not mean food, seating or parking are automatically in a basic ticket; check the category details. For Turbhe residents, it may remove the cost and fatigue of a cross-city ride.
Pune: Dandiya Dhoom 9.0 at three venues
16–18 October · Balewadi, Kharadi and Magarpatta City. The organiser's site names Orchid Hotel in Balewadi, Mahalakshmi Lawns in Kharadi and Amanora The Fern in Magarpatta, with gates from 5 pm. One festival name covers three separately situated venues; buy for the venue your group can actually reach. Compare artist programme and final pass price at the relevant venue before assembling a cross-Pune friend group. The three dates provide a compact alternative to a full nine-night season.
Delhi NCR, Indore and Jaipur: check the ticket's fine print
New Delhi: Dandiya Raas Season 4 at NSIC Ground
17–18 October · NSIC Ground, Okhla. The 2026 page lists DJ Prateek Monga, Shibani Kashyap and Komal Seth. Two nights and a named outdoor ground make this easier to plan than a vague “Delhi NCR Dandiya” search result. Check the selected day's final line-up, gate and age rule. If coming from Gurgaon or Noida, make the return travel a first-order part of the price comparison.
Gurugram: Grand Dandiya Carnival at Seven Barrel
14–19 October · Seven Barrel Brewpub · ₹399 starting tile plus venue cover. The description specifies a mandatory, fully redeemable cover collected at the venue: ₹500 per person on 14–16 October; ₹1,000 per person or ₹1,500 per couple on 17–19 October. At the listed ₹399 starting tier, one person going 14–16 October should expect at least ₹899 payable before any booking fee, though ₹500 is venue credit. The later dates differ. Read admission and cover terms together, and do not describe the tile price as the evening's total. A brewpub atmosphere may suit a different group from a devotional ground.
Indore: Dholi Taara 5.0 at Essentia
11–20 October · Essentia Luxury Hotel · from ₹199. The organiser's listing describes a rain-proof pandal, vegetable-food court and late Gujarati and Bollywood Garba sets. Here the critical detail is admission eligibility: the published rules restrict couple passes to one female and one male guest, specify a female-member requirement for a five-person group and say all-male groups are not allowed. Review the current terms before anyone buys; we are reporting those terms, not endorsing them. Ask directly if your party composition is not covered, and choose a different event if its policy does not work for you.
Jaipur: Dandiya Garba Mahotsav at East Lawn
15 October · Entertainment Paradise, East Lawn, Jawahar Circle · from ₹499. The organiser's 2026 listing calls this its 11th edition and says unlimited food and NBC beverages are included in the ticket. It attributes more than 5,500 visitors to its tenth edition; treat that as organiser-reported history, not a forecast for 2026. The listing also says male stag entry is not allowed, so check group eligibility before treating the included meal as a bargain. This is a one-evening plan rather than an interchangeable multi-night pass.
Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kolkata and Chennai: different local settings
Bengaluru: Navaratri Mahautsav at Palace Grounds
9–20 October · Tripura Vasini, Palace Grounds, Gate No. 2 · from ₹699. The ticket page distinguishes a Bhoomi Trivedi concert on 9 October, Disco Dandiya on 10 October and ten nights of Garba and Raas from 11–20 October with the Stars of Music Orchestra from Gujarat. If you want traditional Garba, choose a corresponding date; if you want the concert, buy its opening night. Palace Grounds hosts more than one 2026 Dandiya production, so Tripura Vasini and Gate No. 2 are part of the plan, not optional details.
Hyderabad: Navkar Utsav at Jalavihar
11–19 October · Grand Lawn, Jalavihar, Necklace Road · from ₹299. The 2026 listing advertises Bamboo Beats from Mumbai, a Maha Aarti, live music, covered AC event space and food stalls. Its “600-plus vehicles” parking and prize-value figures are organiser claims; do not infer a measured crowd or guaranteed parking spot from them. This suits a group wanting a large hybrid of live band, contemporary production and devotional moment. Confirm the exact nightly line-up and whether a premium zone changes access.
Kolkata: Dandiya Mahotsav 3.0 in Kasba
17–20 October · Regenta Orkos, Kasba · ₹1,750 listed. The four-night programme labels 17 October “Dandiya Raas,” 18 October “Disco Dhunachi Dandiya,” 19 October “Dandiya Garba” and 20 October “Disco Dandiya Finale.” The “Dhunachi” label acknowledges a Bengali festive motif in a DJ-led Dandiya setting; do not confuse that fusion night with a traditional dhunuchi ritual or with every Durga Puja celebration in the city. Pick the named night that matches your interest, and check whether food is included in its particular pass.
Chennai: Dandiya Nights by the Beach at MGM
17–18 October · MGM Beach Resorts, ECR. The 2026 listing is unusually specific: a women's ticket ₹399, stag ₹499, couple ₹799, five-person group ₹2,299, ages 6–12 ₹299 and under-six entry free, as written on 3 October. One welcome drink and borrowed dandiya sticks are included; return the sticks afterward. Food counters are chargeable. A family of two adults and one child aged 6–12 could start at ₹1,098 if eligible for the ₹799 couple pass, before booking fees, food and the ECR return; confirm the pass conditions and available tier. This venue offers a coastal-resort evening rather than an all-night city-ground format.
The history behind the choices, and how 2026 changes the experience
Garba centres collective devotion during Navratri; Dandiya Raas uses paired sticks in many celebrations. These traditions were not invented by an arena promoter or a viral reel. UNESCO's description of Garba connects the circle, singing, clapping and the image of the goddess. Local and diaspora communities carried the practice into different cities. The 1909 Bombay record is one dated piece of evidence for an older urban history, not a claim that every modern form has the same origin story.
The 2026 event pages show how formats have multiplied: Vadodara markets Atul Purohit and an E-Pass, Ahmedabad sells enormous grounds with meal options, Bengaluru splits concerts from Garba nights, Kolkata names a disco-dhunachi fusion night, and Chennai advertises a resort ticket with a children's rate. Bollywood tracks, choreographed group steps, regional language mixes and short-form social videos can change how a night looks and feels. None replaces the people in the circle. Choose the actual programme, rather than assuming every “Garba and Dandiya” title means the same music or ritual.
A better way to choose your night
- Start with people: name everyone, their ages, access needs, preferred music, where they start and where they sleep afterward. Ask the older member what would make the evening comfortable instead of deciding on their behalf.
- Choose participation or watching: a big singer-led circle rewards people keen to dance; an artist-led show or hotel evening may suit companions who prefer a break and a view. Ask whether seating exists and is included.
- Choose the right date: 9 October Bengaluru concert, 10 October Ahmedabad opening, 15 October Jaipur one-nighter and 20 October finale nights are different plans. A general festival date range never guarantees your artist on every evening.
- Calculate payable, redeemable and extra: ticket quantity plus platform fees plus mandatory gate/cover amounts plus transport, food and parking. A redeemable venue credit is still cash you must bring or pay.
- Verify venue and entry: a district or city label can contain multiple grounds; compare the current ticket's pin, gate, age rule, ID and group-pass terms. We flagged contradictory text in Surat and older wording in Ahmedabad.
- Plan the return: confirm the event's likely exit time and a pickup point, especially with children, elders, an outdoor ground or an intercity visitor. Let everyone know the backup meeting spot.
Do not use “expected footfall” to choose an event as if it were a live crowd estimate. Promoters' historical attendance and capacity statements are interesting context, but they are not comparable audited rankings. Nor can this article call a city “most searched” without a shared, dated keyword dataset. A good local choice may deliver more value than a famous name that requires a difficult trip.
A two-minute family decision game
Each person chooses their two priorities from live singer, familiar music, time to dance, rest space, food included and easy trip home. Cross out any event that fails a non-negotiable need. Then compare the final two using actual checkout totals. It sounds simple, but it stops the loudest dancer in the group from accidentally choosing for everyone.
Our group includes an elder who wants to join but may sit between songs.
Start with Kora Kendra Ground 1's stated senior seating. Ask the organiser about access for your pass, drop-off distance and toilets; being named in this guide does not verify that another venue has the same arrangement.
We want the singer whose songs we know.
Choose the selected date, not only the event name. Atul Purohit is on Shankus' 10 October line-up and featured on United Vadodara's official 2026 programme; Bengaluru's Bhoomi Trivedi concert is on 9 October; Falguni Pathak's Mumbai show lists 11–19 October. Confirm the final artist announcement before paying.
We can spend less if dinner and the trip home stay manageable.
Compare local entry, any included meal and transport for the same people. A ₹199 tier in Indore carries restrictive group eligibility; a ₹399 Gurugram tile adds mandatory cover. The lowest poster number may not be your eligible or cheapest complete evening.
What to buy before you go—and what to check first
An outfit, jewellery, footwear and dandiya sticks can quietly overtake the ticket. Set a spending cap for the full outing, then check the venue's dress and stick rules before buying accessories. Comfortable shoes and secure clothes matter more to a long dancing night than a new photograph-ready purchase. A borrowed or reworn outfit can be part of the celebration; if you are gifting someone an outfit, ask their size and whether they would actually wear it. MGM Chennai explicitly lends sticks that must be returned; that is one purchase a guest there need not make. Other event listings may require you to bring your own.
Large group or family categories also need a reality check: count the actual people, children's ages and eligibility before dividing a group price by five or ten. If a venue advertises prizes or photo spots, treat them as entertainment, not a value you can subtract from your budget. Keep one small buffer for an unplanned ride, paid parking or dinner after the last song, with no invented universal rupee figure.
Save and share the useful information, not only a reel
Instagram is helpful for a glimpse of the music, dress and atmosphere and sometimes for a last-minute gate notice. A short video can omit the queue, food price, age restriction or whether it was shot last year. Send your group one message with direct booking link, selected date, exact venue and gate, all-in amount, age and group rules, and return plan. Save the organiser's social account from its own official site or ticket page rather than guessing a handle. Photo and video etiquette matter in shared circles: ask before posting close-ups of strangers or children.
The tea break after the circle
For many families, the best conversation happens back at home: who taught the newest step, which song brought an elder into the circle, and whether the photographs are worth keeping. A simple host setup can be a tray, warm water and HI TEA's ready-to-use green tea cups. Each box has eight small 210 ml handleless paper cups with the blend inside; add hot water and swirl. Offer Mint for a brisk note, Kahwa for spice or let guests choose a flavour by mood. This is an at-home gathering idea, not a claim that HI TEA sponsors any listed event or that tea replaces water during a night of dancing.
If hosting a visiting cousin or a colleague after a show, an eight-cup box is also a modest take-home gift: ask whether they like green tea first. See the HI TEA FAQs for product and order details, or the preparation guide. Keep the tea offer naturally after the useful city information so it feels like a real suggestion, not a fake event partnership.
Garba and Dandiya 2026: quick answers
What dates are Navratri and Dandiya nights in 2026?
Many listed Garba nights run 11–19 October, but the individual programmes above range from a 9 October opening concert to 20 October finales. Check the particular event and date rather than treating all city festivals as one calendar.
Which 2026 event has Atul Purohit?
Vadodara's United Garba Mahotsav names him with Rutumbhara for its 11–19 October programme. The Shankus Dandiya ticket page in Ahmedabad lists him on 10 October specifically. Verify the performer in your selected-night confirmation.
Are Thane and Navi Mumbai part of the Mumbai list?
They are separate metropolitan destinations here: Raymond Ground, Thane West and Le Méridien Turbhe, Navi Mumbai. Their journey and admission are separate from the two Mumbai-city examples.
What does “from ₹399” mean when a cover is charged?
The advertised entry tier can be only the first payment. Gurugram's Grand Dandiya Carnival describes an additional, mandatory redeemable cover collected at the venue. Add it to the ticket and fees before deciding; the cover is spending credit, not a free reduction of the amount payable.
Which events include food or sticks?
Mandalam Ahmedabad advertises unlimited food; Jaipur's Dandiya Garba Mahotsav says its ticket includes unlimited food and named beverages; Chennai's MGM listing includes one welcome drink and loaned sticks while food costs extra. In each case verify the exact current ticket tier and terms. Do not infer inclusions from a photograph of a food court.
Can children or elders go?
Some listings give child prices or advertise senior seating; others have category or group restrictions. Ask the organiser about access from drop-off, a place to rest, toilets, noise and the child's actual pass requirement. “All ages” does not promise free entry or suitable seating.
